Cambridge: building continuity in a technical community.

AI Founders Connect · West Hub, Cambridge · May 2025 and January 2026

A single event can open a conversation. Returning to a community creates the opportunity to deepen it.

AI Founders Connect's Cambridge programme includes two recorded rounds at West Hub: 29 May 2025 and 29 January 2026. The archive contains booking records, ticket reports, startup material and photography. Together, these records provide a concrete view of the work behind the network.

What the programme brings into the room

The January archive includes presentation material from businesses working across technical and applied-AI problems, including medical, scientific and decision-support applications. The purpose of a founder–investor conversation is to make the business case as intelligible as the technology: what problem is being addressed, who needs the solution, and what evidence would justify the next stage of development?

Participation is not an investment recommendation, and companies presenting at an event are not automatically Westminster portfolio companies.

A measurable example of programme development

Each round recorded 63 tickets. AI Founders Connect’s paid registrations increased from 34 in May 2025 to 54 in January 2026, while complimentary tickets fell from 29 to 9. That is a 58.8% increase, approximately 59%, in paid-ticket volume between the two rounds.

These figures come from Eventbrite sales reports dated 7 September 2026. They show a change in the programme's ticket mix; they do not establish unique attendance, repeat-customer retention, profit, capital raised or fund investment performance.

The commercial measure

Provider-reported net ticket sales increased from £1,985.11 to £3,485.32—approximately 75.6% between the two rounds. This adds a monetary measure to the change in paid registrations.

Net ticket sales are not net profit or verified bank receipts. Event costs, refunds and settlement records have not been fully reconciled. This is AI Founders Connect programme activity, not Westminster fund performance.

Why this experience matters to the investment approach

Technical presentations raise questions that do not fit into a single pitch headline. How far has the product progressed? What does commercial deployment require? Which claims can a customer validate? What would a next financing actually enable?

Westminster's proposed investment process is designed to take those questions beyond a first meeting, through independent evidence, commercial assessment and the discipline of investment terms.

The Cambridge programme provides a setting for relevant conversations. It does not confer university endorsement on Westminster or provide exclusive access to companies.
